Description

Southern Comfort is a relaxed family home located in the heart of Old Seagrove Beach on Scenic Highway 30A just across the street from easy access to south Walton’s beautiful white sand beaches. Nestled amid mature landscaping, the deep front porch and white picket fence welcome guests to this 4-bedroom home with accommodations for 9. Because it is located directly on the Timpoochee Trail - a 19-mile paved pathway for pedestrians and bicyclists that runs the length of Scenic Highway 30A – guests of Southern Comfort enjoy an easy two-block stroll or bike ride to the Town of Seaside two blocks to the west, or to neighboring Watercolor just beyond, where shopping, dining and entertainment choices abound. Guests of Southern Comfort enter the downstairs living area with vaulted ceiling in the living room, adding to the feel of spaciousness. The living room is comfortably furnished with 2 sofas (one a sleeper) and overstuffed chair, allowing guests to gather around the TV after a day at the beach. Just past the living room, the sunny dining area with white tile flooring and east-facing bay window is furnished with a cottage style dining table for 6. Just beyond is the galley kitchen equipped with side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, electric range/oven, dishwasher and microwave. Natural wood cabinets are finished with countertops the same shade as the turquoise gulf waters across the street. Exit the kitchen’s back door to the home’s outdoor area with plenty of space for everyone. Dual ceiling fans keep things cool on the huge screened lanai furnished with two tables providing seating for 8. Beyond the screened lanai a spacious sun patio is equipped with a grill for those outdoor meals. Completing the homes first floor are laundry area, two bedrooms and two baths located off a hallway accessed from the kitchen/dining area. To the left off the hallway is a full bath with walk-in tiled shower and single vanity. To the right, across the hall from the bathroom, is a bedroom furnished with a queen bed, nightstand and TV. A pair of windows overlook the screened lanai. Next on the right is the master, also furnished with queen bed and featuring walk-in closet and private bath. Double glass doors open onto a sun room with windows on two sides and access to the screened lanai on the third. It is furnished with a comfortable reading chair and ottoman, ceiling fan and well-stocked bookcase. The master’s private bath is equipped with combination shower and jetted tub. Just outside the bath is a dressing area with long single vanity with plenty of countertop area. At the end of the downstairs hallway is the laundry area with full size washer and dryer conveniently tucked behind bi-fold doors. To the left of the laundry area is access to the 2-car garage, offering covered parking and storage for beach gear. Upstairs are two additional bedrooms with shared bath. To the left is a large bedroom furnished with king bed and overstuffed chair, TV, VCR and stereo. To the right is a children’s room furnished with twin-over-full bunk bed and TV/VCR. The two bedrooms share a bath with combination tub/shower and single vanity. No wireless internet in this property and be aware that there are separate air conditioners on each level. Bring your own chair/umbrella as we could not get any of the beach rental companies to return our phone calls for rentals.

Great house - bad air conditioner

The air conditioner upstairs was broken when got to the property. We were brought a temporary air conditioner for one of the upstairs bedrooms late that night but not one for the other upstairs bedroom so we were unable to use that bedroom until mid day the next day. Loved the house itself and location but was very disappointed that we were not brought two air conditioners to start with and that we were not compensated in some way for loosing use of half of the house for one whole day.

Unfortunately things do happen that are not within our control. We did purchase 2 portable A/C units for the property for the night you were without A/C so that you could still enjoy the property and surrounding area. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that you will give Royal Beach Rentals an opportunity in the future.
